Cody Woodward’s responsibilities as UAA Member Office Coordinator are centered around ensuring a seamless and valuable experience for every UAA member. From onboarding and record-keeping to providing day-to-day support and managing access to benefits, communications, and opportunities, Cody is the primary point of contact for member questions.
“I’m always thinking about ways we can strengthen member engagement, whether through thoughtful communication, better access to resources, or strategies that help people stay connected to the organization,” Cody shares.
With a background in environmental studies and graduate work in business analytics and data science, Cody brings a data-driven approach to enhancing member services.
“My goal is to help highlight the impact UAA has in the industry and demonstrate how much of that is a result of the time and commitment of its members,” she says.
Empowering Connections and Collaborative Spirit
Cody quickly dove into the UAA’s busy season when she joined the team in March this year.
“If I had to describe my employee orientation in one word, it would be empowering,” Cody shares. “It’s been rewarding to contribute to an organization that prioritizes connection, values its members, and continually works to create a meaningful impact within the industry.”
For Cody, the best part of working with the UAA is undoubtedly the people. “Everyone brings something unique, and there’s a strong sense of collaboration,” she says.
This collaborative spirit was evident during a team-building exercise at SUVM 2025, where Cody’s unconventional idea of using a paper fortune teller as a tower base was openly embraced. “That moment captured one of my favorite things about the UAA. There’s a genuine openness to new ideas and a culture that values collaboration, creativity, and the different perspectives everyone brings to the table.”
One thing Cody wants members to know is her dedication to their experience.
“I’m always working behind the scenes to make things run more smoothly, but what matters most to me is making sure members feel seen, supported, and engaged.”
Driving Growth and Personal Passions
Cody is optimistic about the UAA’s future growth, which she says is fueled by the association’s dedicated community.
“What gives me hope is the way people show up for one another, for the industry, and their work. There’s a shared commitment across the organization to grow with purpose.”
Outside of work, Cody enjoys spending time with family, including her two children and pets, and unwinds by crocheting. “It’s a creative outlet that helps me slow down, recharge, and think through things,” Cody says. Her passion for strategic thinking extends to a love for collaborative board games, which she says hones her critical thinking and problem-solving skills in her professional career.
A fun fact about Cody: her favorite tree is the Tulip Poplar, holding a special memory connected to Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest and a beautiful memento from her wedding. The Redbud comes in a close second, symbolizing the arrival of warmer, outdoor-friendly days.
Welcome to the team, Cody! We are excited for the innovative contributions you provide and will continue to bring to the UAA and its members.
