A Look Inside the UAA and Arbor Day Collaboration

A pivotal meeting took place in late February that will shape the landscape of our industry for years to come.

Leadership teams from the Utility Arborist Association and the Arbor Day Foundation gathered in Nebraska City, Nebraska, with a singular focus: designing the future of the Trees & Utilities (T&U) Conference.

“With the projected growth of the UVM industry in the next few years, the relevance of T&U continues to expand,” noted UAA Executive Director, Dennis Fallon. That sentiment served as the North Star for the week as the team began strategizing for 2027 and beyond.

The collaboration brought together Michelle Saulnier, Tara Watermeier, Lauren Weyers, Megan Ptacek, and Dan Lambe from ADF; and the UAA’s Fallon, Samantha Wilson, Crystal Arp, and Cody Woodward. Together, they explored how to innovate the T&U experience to ensure it remains the premier space for learning, safety, and professional connection.
