Shape the Ten-Year Action Plan for Urban Forestry

The landscape of our communities is changing.

Now is your chance to influence the roadmap that will guide us for the next decade. The National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council (NUCFAC) is currently updating its Ten-Year Action Plan (2027–2037), and we need your perspective.

  • This plan is more than just a document. It is a strategic framework that drives federal funding priorities and optimizes resources for the entire field of urban and community forestry.
  • By sharing your insights on current needs, challenges, and opportunities, you directly contribute to more accurate data, better gap assessments, and goal setting.
  • This foundation is critical as we work together to manage the pressing issues of extreme heat, public health, and rapid urban growth.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or a community advocate, your feedback can ensure a comprehensive vision for the future.

Please take a few minutes to complete the stakeholder engagement form. Join us in building a greener, more resilient digital future.

Your Path to UVM Leadership Starts Here

Want to advance your career while implementing and sustaining world-class Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) programs?

Make a commitment to the Pro-UVM Certification Program through the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, a 100% online, project-based curriculum.

Former UAA Board Member Adam Warf, Director of Business Development at Iapetus, enrolled to transition into management.

“This felt like the perfect opportunity for me to expand my skill set and get a better understanding of overall UVM program management,” Warf recalls. “I learned a lot about UVM challenges across North America. I guarantee something you learn in this course will help improve your company’s UVM program.”

The program offers three phases of credentials focusing on safety, IVM, and project management. For Amanda Opp, past UAA Board Member and Integrated Services Manager at Flathead Electric Cooperative, the networking was transformative: “It was the best decision I ever made. I had 29 mentors built into the class. I wouldn’t be where I’m today in my program without those people and connections.”

Matt Goff, UAA Past President and Transmission Vegetation Manager at Georgia Power, found the coursework applicable from the get-go.

“While working on the assignments and networking with my classmates, I was able to apply the material to challenges that I face each day,” Goff says. “The Pro-UVM program helps us understand how a process-driven approach to problem-solving can help each manager balance the numerous inputs, so that we accomplish our objectives in a sustainable manner.”
