Each year, Lewis Services announces the recipient of the Fleet Stewardship Award—one of the company’s most anticipated and prestigious celebrations. Initiated in 2022 by Chad Fay, Lewis’ Senior Vice President of Operations Support, the Fleet Stewardship Award was created to inspire exceptional stewardship of Lewis’ expansive fleet and recognize those who have achieved industry excellence.

“Being selected as the recipient of Fleet Stewardship Award is not an easy feat,” explained Fay. “From a quantitative standpoint, we have established rigorous metrics related to compliance scores, inspections, utilization rates, and driver qualifications.” Fay continued, “But it’s not just about numbers. Recipients of this award are leading by example.

They’re constantly innovating. They’re collaborative. And they consistently lead with a ‘WE, not me’ approach.”
With this ambitious criteria in mind, Lewis is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2025 Lewis Fleet Stewardship Award: Christopher Gaston.

With 25+ years of experience in the industry, Gaston is highly regarded as a valued leader, motivated manager, and effective communicator who is dedicated to customer and employee success. Since joining Lewis in 2013, Gaston has risen through the ranks of Operations and now serves as a division manager. Gaston is also a member of Lewis’ 2024 Emerging Leaders Program and UAA Safety Committee.

Respected by colleagues and customers alike, Gaston exemplifies the traits of a Fleet Steward and teaches others how to be more effective stewards as well. Fay explained that Gaston’s impact at Lewis is felt and appreciated across the organization.

“Chris’ dedication is evident not just in fleet stewardship—but in all he does as a Lewis leader. As Chris’ division has grown in workforce and asset numbers, he keeps safety as his top priority and leads from the front. His staunch commitment to driver compliance, equipment maintenance, and accountability has resulted in a best-in-class fleet.”
