The Utility Arborist Association (UAA) has launched a new “Support UAA” page on our website, creating a central hub for anyone who wants to contribute to the utility vegetation management (UVM) industry.
This new resource will make it easier for people and organizations to engage with us, whether through financial contributions, professional involvement, or advocacy.
“The need for a centralized page highlighting all the ways to support the UAA was born from two motivations: streamlining resources for supportive stakeholders and elevating our online presence as a non-profit,” says Samantha Wilson, UAA Partnership Coordinator. “A long-term goal is to earn a Platinum Seal of Transparency on GuideStar (a key donor search platform). We have gone from no presence in this donor search tool to a having robust profile and a Silver Seal of Transparency this year.”
The new page organizes UAA support opportunities in three categories:
- Donate – This section provides a direct way to contribute financially to the UAA’s mission. Options include the Nelsen Money Memorial Scholarship, Employee Matching Funds, and Donor Advised Funds, all of which help fund the UAA’s programs and research.
- Empower – This category is for those who want to get involved directly with their time and expertise. You can join a committee, become a member, sponsor, or speak or attend events to share knowledge and network with peers.
- Advocate – This section focuses on ways to champion the UAA’s mission in the broader industry. You can sponsor our efforts, support our sponsors, and use UAA tools to encourage integrated vegetation management (IVM) and keep your team safe.
The UAA’s growth in recent years has been a testament to the passion and commitment of its members.
“It’s inspiring to meet folks so ready to jump in and contribute to the UVM industry,” adds Wilson. “As we evolve into an influential organization, the UAA is increasingly the prime resource of expertise in managing vegetation on rights-of-ways.
“Our team is made up of skilled staff, specialized contractors, and expert volunteers, and is poised to shift paradigms in UVM to create safer, more connected, and more sustainable communities.”
